How To Install Light Guard Covers on Your Jeep Wrangler

If you travel on rough roads or rocky trails, you need to protect your Jeep Wrangler from dirt and debris. For example, you can protect your LED taillights—and personalize your Jeep at the same time—by installing light guard covers on your vehicle. If you think you may want to add these valuable features to your truck, read below to learn how to install light guard covers on your Jeep Wrangler.

Step 1: Remove Four Screws With Phillips Screwdriver

To install your new Jeep Wrangler taillight covers, you first need to remove the old ones from your vehicle. To do this, remove the four screws that attach the old cover to the taillight with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Be sure to keep this tool out of the toolbox because you’ll need it again for step three.

Step 2: Remove the Old Taillight Cover

After you remove the screws, it’s time to remove the old taillight cover. This is simple enough; all you need to do is lift the old cover gently off the taillight. It should be easy to do if you’ve remembered to remove all the screws.

Step 3: Attach Your New Taillight Cover

The next step is to attach the new taillight cover. Carefully place the new cover over the headlight and use your Phillips-head screwdriver to attach the four new screws. Make sure the screws are not too tight or loose. If they are too loose, the light guard cover could fall while you’re driving. If they are too tight, you could damage the Jeep and the light guard cover.

Step 4: Repeat the Process

You have now successfully installed a light guard cover on one taillight. Now, you just need to replace the light guard cover on the other taillight. It might look a little strange if you install only one light guard cover!

These steps teach you how to install light guard covers on your Jeep Wrangler. Before you go off-roading or driving on rough backroads, protect your LED taillights with light guard covers.
